Who We Are

A Cabbagetown Tradition Since 1988

Founded in 1988, the annual Cabbagetown Art & Craft Show is a much-loved event in this historic neighbourhood. The show attracts visitors from all over the province on the weekend after Labour Day to Riverdale Park West. Located in the heart of Cabbagetown, the Cabbagetown Art & Craft Show has been a favourite of artists and visitors for over three decades. After a significant overhaul in 2023 to reflect artists’ and visitors’ feedback, last year’s show received overwhelmingly positive feedback. Artists tell us it is their favourite show, visitors tell us they love the variety, the laid-back atmosphere and the high quality and diversity of the exhibitors. It’s an outdoor gallery where discerning art and craft lovers can experience juried exhibits, talk to artists, designers and artisans and buy one-of-a-kind pieces from some of Canada’s most creative talent.

Exhibitor tents line the park’s walkways, welcoming thousands of visitors over two-and-a-half days. Overarching trees provide shade, there’s a delicious selection of food for sale and there are picnic tables for family gatherings. We can’t wait to welcome you to our community. See you in September!

Our Values

We believe that art inspires the soul. We’re a community-based, not-for-profit corporation, which presents the annual Art & Craft Show in the beautiful neighbourhood of Cabbagetown.

Our commitment is to support art and craft creators, to encourage appreciation of the visual arts and to give artists an affordable and accessible place to showcase and sell their work. Artists keep 100% of the proceeds from their sales at the Show..

By promoting Canadian artists, this not-for-profit juried show generates funding that allows us to give back to our community and helps support the Cabbagetown Community Arts Centre, and BGC Toronto Kiwanis (formerly known as the Toronto Kiwanis Boys and Girls Club).

A Juried Show

Each year, prospective exhibitors submit their applications to a panel of jurors — fellow practising artists with a deep knowledge of the local creative landscape. It’s the jury’s selections that determine who will exhibit their work at the Cabbagetown Art & Craft Show each September. The jurying process ensures that the show consistently hosts the highest quality, most innovative, skilled and creative art every year. The result is a weekend full of arts in a unique park. A place where a community of professional creators meets audiences of passionate art and crafts lovers who fully appreciate outstanding creativity.

Community

The built heritage of Cabbagetown is the ideal location to celebrate the importance of creativity within communities. Nestled in the heart of the city and surrounded by greenspace, this vibrant neighbourhood is full of artists and creators. The Cabbagetown Art & Craft Show is a much-anticipated annual event in Riverdale Park West, bordered on two sides by rows of heritage Victorian houses. To the north sit the High Gothic architecture and majestic trees of Toronto Necropolis. To the east, Riverdale Farm — loved by generations – is home to horses, goats, cows, sheep, pigs, poultry, a century-style farmhouse, gardens and wooded walkways.

A unique event in a unique community.
