45th Blair’s Run

Blair’s run is back on the morning of September 8 with “The Classic” in-person 2km run or walk at Carlton and Parliament. Blair’s runners can also “Freestyle” with their chosen activity at a different place and time. Blair’s Run supports the newly re-opened Cabbagetown Youth Centre (CYC) under the umbrella of BGC Toronto Kiwanis (formerly known as the Toronto Kiwanis Boys and Girls Club).

Cabbagetown Preservation Association

The CPA was founded in the late 1980s to help preserve the architectural integrity and historic character of Cabbagetown. Active in the neighbourhood, and passionate about preservation, this group of volunteers offers many ways to connect with Cabbagetown:

Cabbagetown Farmers’ Market

It’s that time of year again! In 2024, the popular market runs 3pm – 7pm every Tuesday from May 14 to October 29 in Riverdale Park West (right beside Riverdale Farm). It strives to develop and strengthen the relationship between those who live in Canada’s largest city with those who produce, prepare and promote local, sustainable food products. This year, there’ll be over 30 vendors — the largest group ever. Here’s a list of 2023 vendors. There’ll be music from Fat Quarter Band to accompany your shopping. Cabbagetown’s wildly popular Tasso Baking (IYKYK) will be the monthly pop-up vendor. Chef Victoria Alexander will be cooking up barbecuing St Lucia-style!

Cabbagetown BIA

There’s a whole community of businesses lining the streets of Cabbagetown on Parliament, from Wellesley to Gerrard, and west along Carlton. Restaurants, cafés, bakeries, food stores, clothing, hairdressers, designer and lifestyle collections. There’s a bridal store, a fair-trade jeweller, a bike shop. The BIA organizes events in the neighbourhood throughout the year, like CaféTO ArtWalk, Live Music, Easter in the Patch and Holiday in the Patch.

The BIA also organizes the Cabbagetown Festival, which takes place on the same weekend as the Cabbagetown Art & Craft Show and attracts around 50,000 people to the neighbourhood. In 2024 the Festival is scheduled for September 7 - 8.

Cabbagetown Forsythia Festival

Congratulations to all the volunteers, sponsors, residents and friends who painted Cabbagetown yellow on Sunday May 7, 2023. So many people joined Cabbagetown Residents’ Association for the parade in the morning and then Forsythia Festival-goers enjoyed the games, entertainment and barbeque until early afternoon. The Forsythia will be back on May 5 in 2024.
