Gerald FitzGerald
Board Chair

A long-time Cabbagetown resident, Gerald is an experienced business executive who led several companies prior to his retirement. He also has a background in governance with an ICD designation and a history of serving on and chairing both for-profit and not-for-profit boards. He is a keen photographer who has shown his work at local juried shows including the Cabbagetown Art & Craft Show.

Arjun Chaudhri
Treasurer

Arjun is a finance executive and the CFO of a health-focused digital technology company. He is a chartered professional accountant and has worked in both public and private businesses, focusing on growth, corporate strategy and finance. He is passionate about connecting his business and financial knowledge with current events and trends. Arjun is volunteering his extensive knowledge, energy and forward focus to the show’s board, helping bring new ideas and efficient processes to a much-loved event.

Lucy Troisi
Vice-Chair

Lucy is a retired City of Toronto Parks, Forestry and Recreation Manager and former City Councillor for the area. She also served as the Executive Director for the Cabbagetown Youth Centre, a not-for-profit organization. She has lived, worked and volunteered in Cabbagetown for many years. Lucy has extensive experience working with Boards of Directors and Advisory Groups. She has a strong passion for the Arts and Community Engagement.

Mike Sparling
IT Systems & Marketing

An entrepreneur, innovator, operator and business leader, Mike Sparling brings experience of prior not-for-profit board and audit-committee appointments, coupled with a background rich in technology, web marketing and business operations. A long-time resident of Corktown, and a passionate advocate for living in the GTA city core, Mike takes great satisfaction in serving the community and the long-running Cabbagetown Art & Craft Show.

Virginia Hamara
Secretary

Virgina has lived and worked in Cabbagetown since 1974. Before retiring as a lawyer, she was a sole practitioner and generalist, and spent the second half of her career as a mediator, addressing the economic impact of domestic separations. She is the mother of three children, two of whom have settled in Cabbagetown. Motivated by her love of the arts and her community, Virginia is one of the show’s original board members. She now leads the Governance Committee, ensuring that structure and decision-making processes are conducted with accountability.

Michelle Ross
Jury Coordinator

Involved with the Cabbagetown Art & Craft Show for over 10 years, Michelle studied textiles at NSCAD University, where she honed her eye for detail and developed a keen sense of style. She also attended the prestigious London College of Fashion in the UK before returning to Canada as a jewellery designer. Michelle participates in juried shows throughout North America. She’s recognized for contemporary handcrafted jewellery that reflects a truly distinct perspective and extensive design training. Her work is anything but traditional.
